Presidential Professor John Torpey, Director of the Ralph Bunche Institute for International Studies and the European Union Studies Center, will receive an award from the DAAD Alumni Association-USA for Excellence in International Exchange. 

The award recognizes Professor Torpey’s long work to organize and support academic exchanges with Germany through the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), or German Academic Exchange Service.

The award will be presented at the Sound Understanding Concert in Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, 881 7th Ave in New York City, on Thursday, April 20, 2023.
