Call for Proposals: UN Communicating for a Better World

📢 Call for Proposals 🇺🇳 Communicating for a Better World: Strengthening the United Nations & Advancing Solutions to Global Issues Through Effective Communication 🗓️ Oct 21–23, 2026 ➡️ Submit proposal by May 31

🇺🇳 Eighty years ago, the United Nations General Assembly recognized what many of us believe as well:

The United Nations cannot achieve its purposes unless the peoples of the world are fully informed of its aims and activities

— General Assembly Resolution 13(I), Feb 13, 1946

With this resolution, the United Nations General Assembly established the UN Department of Public Information, now known as the UN Department of Global Communications. This department—together with similar departments across the UN system—tells the UN story to build support for the aims and work of the United Nations.

AI and the change of the geopolitical landscape are both opportunities and challenges for those working in UN communications, and thus for the organization to achieve its purposes. To explore new ways for communication to strengthen the United Nations and advance solutions to global issues, we are organizing the conference:
