Grenada proposed that the Secretary-General appoint a group of experts, under the aegis of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, to define guidelines for a UN study of “”the nature and origin of unidentified flying objects and related phenomena””. The Prime Minister of Grenada, Sir Eric Gairy, spoke at the Special Political Committee to introduce the draft resolution.
