Klaus S. Sahlgren (1928-
) was executive secretary of the UN Centre for Transnational
Corporations (1975-83) and executive secretary of the Economic
Commission for Europe (1983-86). Before this he was the
permanent representative of Finland to the UN and international
organizations, and chair of GATT and EFTA Councils. He was
born in Finland and educated at Åbo Akademi and the
Officers’ College of Marine Warfare.
