Elise Boulding (1920- ) has worked as an advisor, consultant, and council member for UNESCO and the UN University on peace education, women, and human development. She also served on the Committee for Quaker United Nations Office. She was advisor of the Human and Social Development Program and consultant to the Household Gender and Age Project at the United Nations University. She is currently professor emerita at Dartmouth College. She was born in Norway and is a naturalized U.S. citizen and was educated at Douglass College, Iowa State College, and the University of Michigan. Her most recent publications is Cultures of Peace: The Hidden Side of History.
