Danial Vahabli is a sociology PhD student at Stony Brook University and the Graduate Fellow of Institute for Advanced Computational Science. His research uses both computational methods and qualitative methods to study the intersection of culture, globalization, and resistance. His dissertation project focuses on international media representations of domestic protests with insights from social movement studies, world society theory, and media studies. He is also interested in protest art and its role in everyday acts of resistance.
