H.E. Mehdi Jomaa, former Head of Government of Tunisia and Dr. Madeleine Albright, former U.S. Secretary of State, led the second workshop to be conducted as part of the Community’s Democracy and Security Dialogue.

The meeting, held at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, focused on the experiences of countries that have been working to resolve armed conflict and the rise of violent extremism.

Participants shared recommendations to combat terrorist threats within the cybersecurity realm and encouraged each other to rely less on the “democracy is right” principle, and more on defining why democracies are effective guarantors of security.
